Introduction

The association of Mongolian Women Engineers, Technologists, Scientists and Mathematicians (Mongolian WSTEM)

The association of Mongolian Women Engineers, Technologists, Scientists and Mathematicians (Mongolian WSTEM) was established in 2011 to support the activities of Mongolian women scientists, and to make a significant contribution to the country's development in engineering, technology, and the sciences. From its beginning, Mongolian WSTEM was a member organization of the International Network of Women Engineers and Scientists (INWES), a non-profit organization that is active internationally through its regional branches in more than 60 countries.

MISSION

Mongolian WSTEM aims to contribute to women’s development, engineering education, and visibility in Mongolia. We accomplish this by increasing the participation of women scientists, technologists and engineers in the formulation, decision-making, and implementation of relevant policies in Mongolia.

Following its inception, Mongolian WSTEM formed three regional networks across the country; our membership, numbering more than 400, are represented by 21Board Members. In 2020, one of our Board Members was selected to serve on the Board of INWES.

We have organized and hosted the Asia-Pacific Network of Nations’ (APNN) Triennial Conference of Women Engineers and Scientists, and have been selected to serve as APNN’s facilitator for these regionally hosted conferences for the period 2021-2023.
